Diet Tea home page Make Your Own Organic Granola Recipe Use 5 cups rolled oats, 2-½ cups chopped walnuts or pecans, 2 cups unsweetened shredded or shaved coconut, 1 cup raw sunflower seeds, 1 cup oat bran, half-cup raisins, 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal or flaxseeds, 2/3 cup canola oil, one-half cup liquid sweetener of your choice, 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the oil and sweetener (this category includes various syrups, honey, and molasses) in a large saucepan and warm over medium heat. Remove from the heat and stir in everything. Mix well, then spread the mixture over a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Store this in a cool, dry place and it will keep for up to one week – or three months in a zipper-locked freezer bag. If you freeze it it will keep for months. Unfrozen a few weeks. |
